Trekking on the high Bale mountains of Ethiopia with amazing scenery, different vegetation cover, endemic animals and birds: Ethiopian wolf, Mount Neyala, Menelik bush back…

Bale Mountains National Park is located on the southeast Ethiopian plateau, in Bale Zone of Oromiya region. The zonal capital, Goba, is on the north-eastern side of the bale mountains national park.

The mountains rise from the 2,500-m plateau to the west, north and east of the park. The Sanetti plateau, which dominates the northern section of the park, reaches 3,800-4,200m on top of the mountain block. The Sanetti plateau is broken by several peaks including Tullu Deemtu (4,377 m), the highest mountain in southern Ethiopia and second-highest in the country.

The Greek historian Herodotus, of the fifth century BC, describes ancient Ethiopia in his writings, while the Bibles Old Testament records the Queen of Sheba visit to Jerusalem where she proved Solomon with hard questions Matters clearly went further than that because legend asserts that King Menelik I - the founder of the Ethiopian Empire - was the son of the Queen of Sheba (Makeda) and King Solomon.

The lower Omo is home to a remarkable mix of small, Contrasting ethnic groups including the Burne but not limited to the Karo, Geleb, Bodi, Mursi, Surma, Arbore, and the Hamer, just to express their artistic impulses. Both the Surma and the Karo for example, are experts at body painting, using clays and locally available vegetable pigments to trace fantastic patterns on each other’s faces, chests, arms, and legs . These designs have no special symbolic significance but are created purely for fun and aesthetic effect, each artist vying to outdo his fellows.

Ethiopia has one of the most stunning natural environments in Africa. Because of the size of the country, and the great variety of its landscapes and climate, Ethiopia represents all that Africa has to offer. The favorable climate and the varied landscape made Ethiopia to be a home of 850 species of birds (over which 32 are endemics).

Addis Ababa hosts nine museums, each specializing in different aspects of the country's rich tradition. The National Museum also referred as the Ethiopian National Museum is the primary museum in Ethiopia. It is located at Amist Kilo (King George Street) near the graduate school of Addis Ababa University. At first, the National Museum started displaying a few collections donated by the royal family and their close associates.

Ethiopia is a land of natural contrasts, from the tops of the rugged Simien Mountains to the depths of the Danakil Depression, at 120 meters below sea level one of the lowest dry land points on earth. The cornucopia of natural beauty that blesses Ethiopia offers an astonishing variety of landscapes: Afro-Alpine highlands soaring to around 4,300 meters, moors and mountains, the splendor of the Great Rift Valley, white-water rivers, Savannah teeming with game, giant waterfalls, dense and lush jungle... the list is endless. But we have carved some of them here on our website.
